Chapter 11Hugh and Jeanett's Children
Robert Campbell (Bob) graduated from high school in Ithaca, N.Y. which is located at the base of Cayuga Lake, one of the Finger Lakes of New York. Ithaca has two well-known colleges, Cornell University and Ithaca College. During high school, he made many long term friends and in his senior year, he was elected class president. Following high school, Bob entered Cornell, circa 1960 and graduated with a four year degree. Following graduation, his long time girl friend, Judy Hammer, and he were married and moved to Mt Morris, N.Y. He was then employed as a salesman for the Heinz Company. From there, he went to work for Kodak of Rochester, continuing in sales.
Their daughter, Tricia, was born in 1967, Jessica Jill followed in 1970 and Marc David arrived in the mid 1970's. And through this period, the family moved from Mt. Morris to Palmyra, then to Yonkers and ultimately to Pittsford, just east of Rochester. As Kodak floundered over the years, Bob worked at other jobs and recently started his own business to promote the use of Web Cams. This arose from his long time interest in music, guitar playing and computer usage. Bob has also been an avid swimmer and canoeing.
Tricia attended SUNY Fredonia graduating with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in music. From SUNY Brockport she took a degree in Journalism. She is employed by Thomas-Reuter in Rochester and resides in Rochester. Jessica was a psychology major at SUNY Brockport and earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina. She is employed by the National Institute of Health in Washington, D.C. Jessica and her husband, David, reside in Silver Springs, Maryland.
Marc took his Liberal Arts degree at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. near Utica and majored in finance and investment. He followed with a Masters in Business Administration at UCLA. Currently his wife and he live in Santa Monica, California where he runs a comedy club and is CEO of Independent Comedy Network of California. Allie, his wife, is a Penn State graduate and took her Masters in Business at UCLLA. Currently, she is a Marketing Executive. However, they are awaiting their first child which is to be a boy and who will be named Cooper. Bob continues in Rochester. The children's mother dies in the 1990's.
Edward Campbell always enjoyed physical work and at one point, he spent more time at the Poyer's fruit farm near Ithaca than at home, that he was considered an honorary oldest son to the owners. Ed graduated from high school in Clifton Springs and joined the Navy but was honorably discharged for medical reasons. He returned home and went to work for Agway delivering fuel oil to users. In 1967, he married Sue. A son Christopher Glenn was born later that year and Andrew John joined the family in 1969.
Chris lives in Phelps, N.Y. and works as an electrician in the Geneva/ Rochester area. He is married and has two children, Izabella, aged eleven, and Zoie, now six months old. Andrew, married to Lynn, his second wife, has a son Christopher aged twenty, and with his first wife, daughters Chelsea, aged sixteen, and Alexis, aged eleven. Andrew is a county dispatcher.
Ed had a life-long love of cars and was an excellent mechanic. He repaired cars, he rebuilt cars and he serviced cars for himself and friends. But at a point in his late forties, it was discovered that he had a form of cancer. He spent the next twelve years battling the disease and passed away in October of 2006 at the age of sixty-one. He was a good person and a good father and a good friend and has been missed by all.
Barbara Campbell, the youngest of the children, learned many things from her brothers, such as basketball, driving, football, rifle shooting and Elvis Presley. She also went to public school mostly in Clifton Springs, graduated, and went on to two years at Auburn Community College and finished at Geneseo State University with a major in Speech and Hearing. From there, she was employed by the State of New York for thirty years and worked with developmentally disabled individuals. She is married to Jerome Maresssa who is also a Speech Pathologist. From Jerome's first marriage, they have two children, Nicholas, aged twenty-four and Kiffiani, and aged twenty-two. Barbara and Jerome live in Lyons, N.Y. Nick now lives in Cleveland, Ohio and Kiffani are at college in Brockport, N.Y.
